# Tiffin

**Country:** Canada
**Water Body:** Lake Huron; Great Lakes
**Harbor Size:** Very Small
**Harbor Type:** Coastal (Natural)
**GPS:** 44.7500, -79.8500

A 900,000-bushel grain elevator built in 1906 once made Tiffin, near Midland on Georgian Bay, a busy transshipment point, with grain arriving by lake boat and leaving by rail. Little of that role survives; only the Midland elevator itself remains standing, and Tiffin holds little commercial cargo relevance today. For grain and dry bulk on Lake Huron, Goderich is the working commercial port, while breakbulk and containers move through Hamilton and the St. Lawrence ports. Forwarders should treat Tiffin as a historic site rather than an active seaport.
