On the Great Australian Bight, this bulk port ships roughly 200,000 tonnes of gypsum a year from deposits near Lake MacDonnell, around 80,000 tonnes of salt and growing volumes of mineral sands, with the Eyre Peninsula Railway running several gypsum trains in daily.
