Grain, coal and liquefied petroleum gas make up the bread-and-butter traffic of Temryuk, a shallow-water commercial port on the Taman Gulf side of the Sea of Azov. Alongside these dry and liquid bulks it handles fertiliser, scrap, mineral oil, oversized and transshipment cargo, while containers are essentially absent. A channel depth of about 3.4 m caps calls at river-sea vessels of roughly 140 m length and 4.6 m draught, placing Temryuk among Russia's shallow Azov ports together with Rostov-on-Don, Azov, Yeysk and Taganrog. Annual throughput runs near 1 million tonnes across some 580 vessel calls, fed by the agricultural hinterland of Krasnodar Krai via road and rail. Forwarders should note that Russian ports have faced extensive sanctions, payment and insurance restrictions since 2022, complicating bookings and customs clearance. For containerised or larger consignments the deep-water port of Novorossiysk is the practical alternative, with Azov or Taman available for bulk.
