PT Pertamina Energy Terminal operates Tanjung Uban (IDTAN) as one of Indonesia's major liquid-energy terminals, on Bintan beside the Strait of Malacca. The Integrated Terminal Tanjung Uban spans more than 250 hectares and offers around 402,000 m³ of fuel storage, about 93,500 t of LPG capacity and seven docks for vessels from 600 to 100,000 dwt. It supplies fuel and LPG to Sumatra and western Kalimantan and is being positioned as a Southeast Asian energy trading hub. The site is not configured for containers, break-bulk or general customs clearance; it serves liquid energy products only. Onward distribution is by pipeline, coastal tanker and road tanker. Forwarders with containers for the Riau Islands use Batam or nearby Kijang instead.
