Three berths measuring 71.4 m, 55 m and 122 m, with depths of 8.5 m, 4.6 m and 2.7 m respectively, make up the cargo side of Tadoussac's harbour on Quebec's North Shore, backed by three warehouses totalling 275 m² and operating only during the April-to-November shipping season. Tadoussac's better-known maritime role is the free, year-round, 24-hour ferry to Baie-Sainte-Catherine across the Saguenay River, carrying up to 432 passengers and 110 vehicles per crossing as part of Route 138. No official UN/LOCODE is assigned to the port. Cargo handled here mainly supplies the local Haute-Côte-Nord region rather than international trade. Saguenay, about 100 km to the west, is the nearest city with rail links, while shippers needing scheduled international container or bulk service should look to the ports of Québec City or Sept-Îles.
