Crude oil and condensate – not containers – define Stura, the Sture Terminal in Øygarden north of Bergen and one of Norway's major oil export points. Piped in via the Oseberg Transport System and from the Grane area, output from fields such as Oseberg, Brage, Veslefrikk and Huldra is stored in five rock caverns totalling one million Sm³ and loaded for export as the Oseberg Blend and Grane Blend grades. Two jetties accommodate tankers up to 300,000 tonnes, and a separate cavern holds up to 60,000 Sm³ of LPG. Operated by Equinor since 1988, this is a dedicated energy and liquid-bulk facility with no container, breakbulk or ro-ro traffic. Such cargo in the Bergen region is handled at the Port of Bergen. Clearance follows Norwegian customs and offshore regulations.
