Some 406,000 cubic metres of mild-steel tank storage, temperature-controlled and backed by custom blending of distillates and heated oil products, define the Inter Terminals facility at Stigsnaes on Zealand's south-west coast. A deep-water jetty accepts up to 16.2 metres of draft and vessels to 335 metres, staying ice-free throughout the year about 60 nautical miles from Copenhagen. Beyond liquids, Stigsnaes is one of Denmark's principal coal-import ports, taking bulk coal carriers that supply the adjacent power station. It is a liquid-bulk and dry-bulk terminal rather than a container or general-cargo port. Inland connections run by road to the E20 motorway toward Slagelse and Copenhagen. For containerised or general cargo, shippers route via Copenhagen or Denmark's main box gateway at Aarhus.
