Behind the code AGSJO lies St John's Deep Water Harbour, through which virtually all of Antigua and Barbuda's foreign trade passes — roughly 32,600 TEU, some 1.36 million tonnes of cargo, about 1,300 vessel calls and around 673,000 cruise passengers a year. There is no railway on the island, so onward carriage is entirely by road — short runs, given that Antigua measures only about 20 kilometres across. For larger regional box volumes and denser liner coverage, San Juan or Kingston remain the stronger options.
