DP World operates the two container terminals at Saint John — Rodney and Navy Island — which together handled 239,364 TEU in 2025, up about 29% on 2024 and the highest volume yet recorded in Atlantic Canada. CN provides intermodal rail into central Canada and the US Midwest, and import clearance is handled by the Canada Border Services Agency. Shippers chasing the widest choice of container services in Atlantic Canada still tend to book Halifax, or Montreal for the St Lawrence corridor.
