Built around an offshore FSRU/LNG berth for a 170,000 m³ floating unit and a combined berth handling LPG carriers of 5,000–82,000 m³ and oil tankers of 25,000–160,000 dwt, the Sokhna Port Gas Tanker Terminal (EG SOK) is an energy facility on the Gulf of Suez, not a container port. Onshore storage includes three 50,000 m³ refrigerated LPG tanks and three 35,000 m³ fuel-oil tanks, supporting LNG, LPG, fuel oil and gas oil throughput. Part of the Ain Sokhna energy hub in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), it has fed imported gas into Egypt's grid since 2017. Pipelines plus the SCZone road and rail network carry product toward Cairo and the interior. Containerised and general cargo move instead through the adjacent Sokhna container terminal, Adabiya or Port Said.
