Operated by Reliance Industries to serve its Jamnagar refinery — the world's largest — Sikka is a captive energy terminal on the southern shore of the Gulf of Kutch. Its marine terminal combines several tanker berths with single-point moorings and offers drafts near 21 m, deep enough for VLCCs. Annual throughput runs to roughly 53 million tonnes of crude and products across about 850 vessel calls, with imports of crude, propylene, liquid ammonia, phosphoric acid and coal balanced by exports of clinker, cement and salt. It is not a container or general-cargo gateway; inland movement relies on dedicated pipelines and road links into the refinery complex. Forwarders handling boxed shipments for Gujarat should route via Mundra or Deendayal (Kandla) rather than Sikka.
