Far offshore, a single buoy mooring some 14 km out lets very large crude carriers discharge into the Si Racha terminal complex on Thailand's Eastern Seaboard in Chonburi Province. These buoy moorings and tanker jetties chiefly feed refineries with crude and petroleum products, operated by the likes of Thai Oil, PTT and Esso (Thailand). The deepwater SBM, set in around 30 m of water, accommodates VLCCs of up to roughly 320,000 dwt; in April 2026 a cargo of about 700,000 barrels of crude was discharged here for refining. This is purely an energy and tanker facility, not a container-line port. Hinterland links to the Eastern Seaboard's industrial zones run via pipeline, road and rail. For containerised freight, nearby Laem Chabang is Thailand's principal deep-sea gateway, while Map Ta Phut serves petrochemicals.
