Two single-buoy moorings some 14 kilometres offshore, set in about 30 metres of water, define the marine side of Si Racha on Thailand's eastern Gulf coast. Together with a crude buoy mooring and a six-berth jetty, they serve the Thaioil refinery, which processes around 275,000 barrels a day. The SBMs discharge very large crude carriers of up to 320,000 DWT bringing Middle East crude, while product tankers lift refined fuels and petrochemicals for export. The Clean Fuel Project aims to raise refining capacity to about 400,000 barrels per day, but after repeated delays commercial operation is now expected around 2028. Pipelines — including a link toward Map Ta Phut — together with road and rail tie the terminal into the industrial belt of Chonburi and Rayong. Si Racha offers no container berths, breakbulk handling or routine merchandise-import customs; for boxes, the country's main container gateway at Laem Chabang lies just to the north. For liquid bulk and energy feedstock, however, this roadstead is a central node of Thailand's refining industry.
