Two daily departures bind Sandefjord to Strömstad in Sweden, a 2.5-hour Color Line crossing that today defines this port on the western shore of the Oslofjord in Vestfold, some 92 km from Oslo. The route is worked by Color Hybrid, the world's largest plug-in hybrid ferry, carrying up to 2,000 passengers and 500 vehicles over its 160 m length. For forwarders the relevant flow is accompanied and unaccompanied RoRo via Color Line Cargo, moving trailers and swap bodies between Norway and Sweden. Beyond the ferry, Sandefjord offers no container, dry-bulk or tanker handling; its quays are built around the ro-ro berth. For containers, Larvik and Oslo are the practical alternatives, while the Grenland ports (Brevik/Porsgrunn) handle bulk.
