Operated by Petrolera LF, the Cargadero Cruz del Sur terminal sets the tone in San Sebastián Bay on the northern coast of Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, where the surrounding oilfields feed crude oil and petroleum by-products to the shore tanks. Loading and discharge run at about 1,500 m³/h, with annual throughput near 700,000 m³. There is no conventional quay: vessels work offshore at a CALM-type single-point mooring linked to the tank farm by pipeline, inside a bay sheltered by the 17 km El Páramo spit. A small volume of wool is also shipped out by lighter. For general cargo, containers or customs clearance this is not a suitable port; forwarders should use Río Grande, Ushuaia or Punta Arenas in Chile instead.
