Around 286,000 tonnes of cargo moved across Pulau Baai's quays in July 2024 alone, underlining its role as the main seaport of Indonesia's Bengkulu province on the west coast of Sumatra. Operated by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo), the port is built around bulk traffic: a coal terminal handling South Sumatran coal for export and a liquid-bulk terminal with tanks for crude palm oil (CPO).
