Around 10.5 million tonnes of grain a year leave Argentina through Puerto Ingeniero White, the cargo section of the Bahía Blanca complex on the South Atlantic. Terminal Bahía Blanca, majority-owned by Bunge, took over the former National Grain Board installations in 1993 and loads bulk cereals at up to 1,500 t/h with roughly 191,600 t of silo storage. Deep berths of about 12.5–12.8 m accommodate Panamax bulkers. Beyond cereals, the complex handles by-products, fertilizers, petroleum and general cargo, plus fruit railed from the Río Negro valley. Regular container liner traffic is essentially absent here. For boxes or mixed freight, shippers turn to Quequén (Necochea) or the Rosario complex on the Paraná.
