Soybeans and corn dominate the throughput of Porto Santana, the agribulk export port on the left bank of the Amazon in the Brazilian state of Amapá. In 2025 the port moved 3.59 million tonnes, up 13.5%, with soy at 62.5% and corn at 31.7% of volumes. Operated by the public Companhia Docas de Santana (CDSA), it sits about 18 km from the state capital Macapá. A new shiploader rated at 1,500 tonnes per hour has lifted loading capacity, and a fresh maritime route now links Santana to Gaolan in Zhuhai, China. Ocean services reach the Caribbean, the United States and Europe via the Amazon estuary. The hinterland covers northern Brazil's grain belt, connected by road and inland waterway. For containerised cargo Santana has limited capability; Belém or Manaus are the practical alternatives.
