Operated by CIM under concession from Grand Port Maritime du Havre (HAROPA PORT), the Antifer terminal sits about 23 km north of Le Havre and handles a single cargo: crude oil. Its two deepwater berths are built for Very Large and Ultra Large Crude Carriers, accepting tankers of up to roughly 250,000 dwt at drafts approaching 18 m. Discharged crude moves through a 26.5 km, 42-inch pipeline to the Le Havre terminal and onward to refineries in the Seine valley and the Paris region. With storage capacity of around 640,000 m³, the site runs continuously, 24 hours a day. Antifer offers no container, breakbulk or RoRo facilities, so shippers of such cargo should route through the main port of Le Havre or Rouen. Because Le Havre handles close to 40% of France's crude imports, Antifer is a strategic link in national energy supply rather than a general-cargo gateway.
