Around 700,000 tonnes of coal a year is the historical baseline shipped through Port Beringovsky, on the Bering Sea coast of Russia's Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Australia's Tigers Realm Coal (ASX: TIG) acquired the port and its coal terminal in 2014 and, from July 2017, began supplying Asia-Pacific buyers — including China, Japan, and Taiwan — with coal from the nearby Amaam North (Project F) mine. Operator Beringpromugol had targeted expanding exports toward one million tonnes annually, partly by adding output from the Fandyushinskoye Pole coal field. In April 2024, Tigers Realm Coal agreed to sell all its Russian assets, including the Beringovsky port and terminal, to Russian company APM-Invest LLC for USD 49 million; current operating status under the new ownership is not fully confirmed in public sources. No container or general cargo handling takes place here; Anadyr, the regional capital, is the nearest alternative port for other freight.
