Poole Harbour's scheduled RoRo freight link to France ends on 31 October 2026: Brittany Ferries is discontinuing its daily Poole–Cherbourg crossing and selling MV Barfleur as part of a €20 million savings programme. From 1 November 2026, only the fast passenger ferry MV Voyager remains on the Poole–Guernsey route (with an optional extension to St Malo), carrying no regular trailer freight. Shippers requiring cross-Channel trailer ferry services from autumn 2026 are directed to Southampton or Portsmouth.
