Deep-water piers exceeding 17 metres alongside, three port sections and a combined throughput capacity around 91 million tonnes define Pohang on South Korea's southeast coast. The Shinhang section is built around steelmaker POSCO, whose dedicated piers discharge iron ore and coking coal and load finished steel, with Pier 1 rated at roughly 50 million tonnes a year.
