Roughly midway between Sicily and Tunisia, Pantelleria is the supply and ferry port of the volcanic island of the same name in the Strait of Sicily. Its freight relevance comes down chiefly to the daily Siremar (Caronte & Tourist) RoRo ferry from Trapani, which brings in food, vehicles and the island's general supplies; in summer, Liberty Lines hydrofoils add passenger capacity. There is no commercial container or liner-cargo handling. Onward distribution across the island is by road from the harbour alone. For containers, breakbulk or larger consignments bound for Pantelleria, Trapani on the Sicilian mainland is the relevant feeder port.
