Around eleven vessels a year call at Okrika (NG OKR), a petroleum-products jetty on the Bonny River some 55 km inland from the sea and just east of Port Harcourt. Its two L-shaped jetties, each with two berths, exist to load and discharge refined products from the adjoining Port Harcourt refinery, fed by pipeline; containers and conventional breakbulk are not handled here. Berths accommodate vessels up to roughly 200 m length, 9.0 m draught and about 39,800 DWT. Throughput is irregular, reflecting repeated shutdowns and ongoing rehabilitation at the refinery. Part of the wider Rivers Port Complex, Okrika is a tanker facility — forwarders moving containers or general cargo should use nearby Onne or the Rivers Port at Port Harcourt.
