Nowy Port, historically the German Neufahrwasser, is the inner-harbour district of Gdańsk at the mouth of the Dead Vistula (Martwa Wisła), and its role differs sharply from the modern outer port. Its quays are shallow (cargo pier around 4.9 m) and serve inner-port functions, including the ferry and passenger terminal near Westerplatte. The region's real container and bulk volumes – Baltic Hub at roughly 2.8 million TEU in 2025 and the Naftoport crude oil terminal – are handled in Gdańsk's outer port, not at Nowy Port itself. For containerised or heavy bulk consignments, the outer Gdańsk terminals or neighbouring Gdynia are the appropriate choice.
