Crude oil, Kazakh CPC blend, wheat and a constrained flow of containers define Novorossiysk, Russia's busiest port by cargo turnover at roughly 131 million tonnes in 2024. Set on the Black Sea coast (UN/LOCODE RU NVS), it is primarily an energy and grain harbour: the Sheskharis terminal handles much of Russia's oil exports, with the port accounting for around 22 percent of the country's crude shipments, while the neighbouring CPC terminal loads crude piped from Kazakhstan.
