A new 830-metre quay and an electrified rail freight yard, completed in 2025 under the Pampus expansion, sharpen the intermodal reach of Norrköping, a full-service port on Sweden's Baltic coast (UN/LOCODE SE NRK). Wholly owned by the City of Norrköping, the port splits between the seaward Pampus deep-water terminal for forest products, containers and rolling cargo, and the Inner Harbour for breakbulk, dry bulk and liquid bulk. Around 85,000 TEU moved across the quays between January and September 2024, up nearly 20 percent year on year. Pulp and paper, timber, steel, grain, petroleum products and project pieces such as transformers make up the typical cargo mix. An intermodal rail link to APM Terminals in Gothenburg feeds inland distribution by road and rail. Gothenburg remains the nearest hub for deep-sea container lines, while Norrköping serves the Östergötland region directly.
