Crude oil, petroleum products and LPG bound for the nearby MRPL refinery head the cargo mix at New Mangalore, the principal deep-water port of India's Karnataka state on the Arabian Sea. Across sixteen berths the port also handles iron-ore pellets, coal, cement, fertiliser, edible oil and containers, reaching a record 50.04 million tonnes in FY2025-26 after 46.01 million in FY2024-25.
