# Natashquan

Route 138 simply stops at Natashquan — the highway goes no further along Quebec's Lower North Shore, leaving this small community dependent on the sea for regular supply. Positioned on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, the port is called at weekly by the cargo-passenger ship Bella Desgagnés, operated under the Relais Nordik service linking Rimouski and Sept-Îles to the road-less villages as far as Blanc-Sablon. General cargo, vehicles, groceries and passengers move through on each sailing, coordinated by a local shipping agent. For larger freight volumes, containers or international liner connections, Sept-Îles remains the nearest practical alternative port on the Côte-Nord.
