The UN/LOCODE PH NAS marks the government base port of Nasipit, tucked into a sheltered cove southeast of Butuan Bay on Mindanao's Caraga coast. Run by the Philippine Ports Authority, it moves roughly 0.85–1.1 million tonnes of cargo a year, including copra, timber products, flour, fertiliser, chemicals, steel and petroleum products. A container quay of about 184 m and dedicated roll-on/roll-off ramps support both Lo/Lo and RoRo services, alongside a passenger terminal linking Manila, Cebu, Bohol and Cagayan de Oro. Hinterland access to Butuan and Agusan del Norte is by road only, with no rail connection. In January 2026 the Philippine Ports Authority awarded a roughly 526-million-peso contract to upgrade and expand the port, with a build period of about 660 days. As a regional multipurpose port for agricultural and breakbulk cargo, Nasipit nonetheless anchors trade for north-eastern Mindanao.
