A coal-export powerhouse on Russia's Pacific seaboard, Nakhodka in Primorsky Krai ships dry bulk to Asia-Pacific buyers from seven dedicated coal terminals. Its largest facility, the Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port terminal, alone offers around 12 million tonnes of annual capacity, alongside Terminal Astafiev, Dalmormontazh and Attis. Beyond coal, the port handles rolled metal, timber, grain, ore, potash fertiliser, building materials and cement, plus petroleum products in a separate oil harbour and containers and refrigerated fishery cargo. Hinterland links run via the Trans-Siberian Railway and road. Since 2022 trade has shifted sharply toward Asian markets, while Western sanctions heavily constrain bookings by European shippers. The nearby deep-water port of Vostochny in Wrangel Bay complements Nakhodka for container and large bulk flows. For forwarders, Nakhodka is fundamentally a bulk and coal port with a secondary breakbulk, reefer and container role.
