Better known for passengers than for cargo, Mudanya on the Sea of Marmara is dominated by BUDO's fast catamaran ferries, which sail seven to eight times daily and reach Istanbul in about two hours. The harbour mainly serves ferry traffic, fishing boats and moorings for around a hundred yachts. There is no confirmed handling of containers, bulk or international liner freight here. Road links connect the port to Bursa and its industrial hinterland. For commercial cargo, customs and container services, the industrial port of Gemlik, some 20 km to the east, is the relevant alternative.
