Iron ore, steel, ferrochrome and ferrosilicon make up the bulk of what moves across Mo i Rana, the industrial quay serving one of Norway's largest manufacturing parks in the country's north. The steelworks quay, run by Rana Industriterminal AS for Mo Industripark AS, is about 410 metres long with roughly 8 metres alongside and four 35-tonne cranes. Inbound traffic centres on iron ore and raw materials for the ferroalloy industry, with a 2.8-kilometre conveyor linking the public quay to plants inside the park. This is a bulk and industrial port rather than a container-line facility. Road and the Nordland railway handle hinterland distribution. A new deep-water quay of 150 metres and 15 metres depth is under construction, due in 2027–2028. For containers, shippers generally route via Bodø or Mosjøen, and via Trondheim for larger volumes.
