# Miseno

**Country:** Italy
**Water Body:** Tyrrhenian Sea; Mediterranean Sea; North Atlantic Ocean
**Harbor Size:** Small
**GPS:** 40.7882, 14.0911

Despite a harbour history reaching back to antiquity, Miseno today has very limited commercial freight relevance. Once the base of Rome's Tyrrhenian fleet, the sheltered natural basin at Bacoli, on the north-western edge of the Bay of Naples, now functions mainly as a marina for leisure craft and as an anchorage, without container, general-cargo or customs handling. Commercial shippers should route cargo through the Port of Naples, roughly 25 km away, with Pozzuoli covering nearer regional traffic.
