# Middelfart (DK MID)

**UN/LOCODE:** DK MID
**Country:** Denmark
**Water Body:** Kattegat; North Atlantic Ocean
**Harbor Size:** Small
**Harbor Type:** Coastal (Breakwater)
**GPS:** 55.5000, 9.7333

Before bridges spanned the Little Belt, Middelfart on Funen lived off ferry traffic and small trading sailing ships; its Gammel Havn of 1837 is now Denmark's first designated cultural harbour. The former commercial basin has shifted to leisure boating and tourism, alongside a modern marina of around 550 berths in about 3 m of water. There is no meaningful breakbulk, bulk or container handling, so commercial freight relevance is low. Shippers in the Funen–Jutland area use Fredericia, Odense or Kolding instead.
