Serving Galicia's forestry and industrial base, the port of Marín on the Ría de Pontevedra is a multipurpose commercial harbour. It operates three container quays and eight general-cargo berths, plus a dedicated terminal for pulp and forest products. Alongside modest container volumes it handles wind-turbine components, steel, agri-food goods, dry bulk and a fishing fleet, backed by over 70,000 m² of warehousing and large open storage areas. Rail integration is a notable strength: around 396,000 tonnes moved by rail in 2025, making Marín one of Spain's most rail-intermodal ports. The Galician hinterland is reached by both road and rail. For large container volumes, nearby Vigo is the natural alternative, complemented by A Coruña and Vilagarcía.
