Adani Ports operates the Hazira multi-cargo terminals that sit within the Magdalla port cluster on the Tapi estuary, where vessels report to Magdalla control before berthing at Hazira. The facilities handle dry bulk, breakbulk, bulk liquid chemicals, petroleum and edible oil, automobiles, crude and containers, with the container terminal moving around 0.5 million TEU in FY22. Six berths give a combined capacity of roughly 30 million tonnes a year, serving the chemical, steel and LNG industries around Surat by road and rail. The state-run GMB jetty at Magdalla itself is far smaller, so EXIM box cargo relies on the Adani terminal. Alternative gateways on India's west coast include Mundra and Nhava Sheva (JNPT).
