Built in 1917 and still run by the Haines Packing Company, the Letnikof Cove cannery is the last in the Chilkat Valley to keep its own dock and warehouse. The cove itself, on the east side of Chilkat Inlet about 8 km south of Haines, is a small-boat harbour and launch ramp serving the local salmon fishery — there is no commercial breakbulk, container or customs activity. For freight in the upper Lynn Canal, use the Lutak Dock at Haines, served by the state ferry and barges, or Skagway and Juneau.
