# Larsen Bay (US KLN)

**UN/LOCODE:** US KLN
**Country:** United States
**Water Body:** Gulf of Alaska; North Pacific Ocean
**Harbor Size:** Very Small
**Harbor Type:** Coastal (Natural)
**GPS:** 57.5333, -153.9833

With a cargo pier of only about 1.8 metres depth and a population in the low hundreds, Larsen Bay on the west coast of Kodiak Island is a fishing community, not a commercial cargo port. Its wooden docks and the cannery - operating since 1888 and now run by Icicle Seafoods - serve salmon tenders and the fishing fleet rather than general trade. Fuel is available and repairs are limited, but there is no container handling or customs clearance, and the remote island has no road or rail to a hinterland. Supplies and catch move by vessel and bush plane. Commercial breakbulk or container shipments should route through the Port of Kodiak and onward via the Port of Alaska at Anchorage.
