Operated by Global Ports Holding, the world's largest cruise port operator, Ege Port Kuşadası on Turkey's Aegean coast is built for passengers, not freight. In 2025 it handled more than 600 cruise calls with around one million passengers, plus over 1,000 ferry calls, across two finger piers totalling roughly 1,300 metres of quay and two roll-on/roll-off ramps for ferry traffic. As the gateway to the ancient city of Ephesus, Kuşadası thrives on tourism rather than container or breakbulk cargo. Road and rail connections reach the hinterland, but commercial sea freight is channelled through the nearby ports of Izmir and Aliağa. For containerised shipments into the Aegean region, those two ports are the appropriate call.
