# Kuito Oil Field (AO KOT)

**UN/LOCODE:** AO KOT
**Country:** Angola
**Water Body:** South Atlantic Ocean
**Harbor Size:** Very Small
**Harbor Type:** Open Roadstead
**GPS:** -5.4667, 11.5000

Despite the code AO KOT, Kuito is an offshore oil field in Angola's Block 14 off Cabinda, not a port for forwarder cargo. Production has run since the late 1990s from an FPSO vessel in about 400 metres of water, and only heavy crude (around 18–22 API) leaves the site by shuttle tanker — there is no quay, container terminal or customs facility for general cargo. For commercial freight, containers and import/export handling, the relevant Angolan ports are Soyo, Cabinda and Luanda. In practical logistics terms, this location has effectively no cargo relevance.
