Multi-purpose cranes, warehousing and cold storage line the natural harbour basin of Kopervik, the largest town on the island of Karmøy in Rogaland. Fishing remains the port's mainstay — it is one of the few remaining fish-landing stations in Norway — but it also handles general and bulk cargo, the former around the clock and the latter on weekdays from 07:00 to 16:00. Three bunkering quays with depths of 5 to 8 metres support fuel supply. With a fairway and quay depth of only about 4.9 metres, vessel sizes are limited, so Kopervik mainly serves coastal and feeder traffic. Scheduled boats connect the town northward to Bergen and southward to Stavanger. Larger container volumes or deeper-draught cargo are better routed through nearby Karmsund Port (Haugesund).
