Brought on stream in 2005, Kizomba B reached its full production capacity ahead of schedule and remains a purely offshore element of ExxonMobil's Block 15 development off Angola. Operated by Esso Exploration Angola, it relies on an FPSO vessel with around 2.2 million barrels of storage rather than any quay, yard or terminal building. The only commodity handled is crude oil, transferred to shuttle tankers through tandem offloading; the site offers no container, breakbulk or RoRo capability, no customs clearance and no road or rail hinterland. Forwarders with conventional or containerised cargo should plan via Luanda, while oil-and-gas support operations are based out of Soyo. In practical terms, Kizomba B is a production and tanker-loading facility, of interest to energy charterers rather than to general freight.
