On the Gulf of Thailand coast in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Khanom is a small fishing and coastal harbour best known as the site of southern Thailand's largest power station. That plant draws natural gas by a roughly 320 km subsea pipeline rather than by ship, so the port has no energy-import role. No container or breakbulk terminals are confirmed here, and despite a channel of about 9.5 m there is no evidence of scheduled commercial cargo. Forwarders route containers through Laem Chabang and Bangkok, with Songkhla serving the south.
