Today Kamalo Bay, on the south coast of Hawaii's Molokai, is a quiet spot where locals fish and launch small boats — the wharf that once landed barges of sand and aggregate is largely gone and no longer in commercial use. The sheltered bay is the only safe anchorage along Molokai's south shore in southwesterly weather, but it carries no active freight role. There is no container, customs or liner activity, so its cargo relevance is very limited. Commercial shipments to Molokai run through Kaunakakai harbour, with Honolulu on Oahu handling larger volumes.
