SEKA, an independent Greek oil company in the Vardinogiannis group, runs Kali Limenes as a bunkering and oil-storage station on the south coast of Crete, about 65 km southwest of Heraklion. Four shore tanks (around 28,000 tonnes of capacity), high-rate pumps and three loading jetties support the operation, set in a sheltered bay only a few nautical miles off the main Mediterranean sea lanes. Vessels can be bunkered alongside or at anchor, and the berth takes tankers up to roughly 60,000 dwt at about 12 metres depth. This is purely an oil and bunkering facility, not a container or general-cargo port. Forwarders with containers, breakbulk or customs needs should route via Heraklion or Piraeus.
