Around 5.5 million barrels of storage and a loading capacity of roughly 200,000 barrels per day define this crude-export island terminal off Lavan in the Persian Gulf. Alongside Kharg and Sirri, it ranks among Iran's principal oil-export outlets and is operated by the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), a subsidiary of NIOC. A single-buoy mooring (SBM) loads crude tankers, while shore piers handle petroleum products and LPG, fed in part by the on-island Lavan Distillation Company producing naphtha, gasoline, kerosene, gas oil and fuel oil. The terminal mainly ships the high-quality Lavan Blend grade (35.4° API, 1.67% sulphur). It does not handle containers, breakbulk or RoRo, and calls are constrained by Iranian sanctions. Forwarders with containerised or project cargo should route via Bandar Abbas (Shahid Rajaee) instead.
