Until 2016 the Joddböle site near Inkoo hosted the largest coal-fired power station in the Nordic countries; after its 2020 demolition, owner Fortum repurposed the deep-water quay for energy logistics. Today Inkoo (FI INK), south-west of Helsinki, is best known as the berth of Finland's first floating LNG terminal, the FSRU Exemplar, which feeds regasified gas into the grid via the Balticconnector link to Estonia. The port handles dry bulk and liquid energy cargoes — solid fuels and gas — and can accommodate vessels of around 80,000 dwt, but scheduled container services are not confirmed. Road access runs via highway 51 into the Helsinki region, with limited rail relevance for general cargo. Forwarders needing containerised import, export or customs clearance rely on Hanko and Helsinki's Vuosaari terminal nearby.
