# Hawkes Habor

Hawkes Habor on the Labrador coast is the ruin of a former whaling station operated in phases between 1905 and 1959, most recently by the Hawke Harbour Whaling Co. before a fire destroyed the facility in 1959. The site has been abandoned ever since and holds no commercial cargo relevance today. It carries no UN/LOCODE and no active port infrastructure remains. Cartwright is the nearest active port serving freight and supply traffic along the south Labrador coast.
