Israel's largest power station, Orot Rabin, sets the rhythm at Hadera, a dedicated energy port on the Mediterranean coast. The terminal imports steam coal across a roughly 600-metre coal berth that handles bulk carriers of up to about 200,000 DWT at an 18-metre draught, while fuel oil arrives via an offshore multi-buoy mooring and a 2,200-metre pipeline jetty. Roughly 7 million tonnes pass through each year, almost entirely energy feedstock rather than commercial freight. Hadera is an open roadstead with no container handling, liner services or routine customs clearance. Road and rail links carry cargo inland to central Israel. Shippers moving containers or breakbulk should route through Haifa or Ashdod instead.
